Overview of the PontiX Bridge

Modified on Thu, 23 Jan at 4:09 PM

The PontiX Bridge is a multichain solution designed to connect the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and Solana ecosystems. This bridge enables seamless transfers of CSC tokens between the two chains, offering users unprecedented flexibility and access to a vibrant multichain ecosystem. By bridging CSC, we’re paving the way for more excellent utility, accessibility, and adoption across blockchain networks.

Key Features and Benefits

1. Cross-Chain Compatibility

  • Transfer your CSC tokens effortlessly between XRPL and Solana, unlocking the advantages of both ecosystems.

2. Low Transaction Costs

  • Save on fees while bridging and transacting, leveraging the cost-efficient networks of XRPL and Solana.

3. Secure Central Treasury Model

  • CSC bridging uses a secure central treasury mechanism to hold and transfer tokens, eliminating the need for costly mint-and-burn operations.

4. Transparent Monitoring

  • Keep track of CSC activity across both chains using tools like DexScreener and explore real-time price, volume, and liquidity updates.

Supported Tokens

The PontiX Bridge currently supports the following tokens:

  • CSC on XRPL

    • Issuing Address: rCSCManTZ8ME9EoLrSHHYKW8PPwWMgkwr

  • CSC on Solana

    • Token Address: CSCojiafv6WLUtT2AGTHgcfnYiGoTZpGgBRwhvfuWQFY

Getting Started

Prerequisites

Before you begin using the PontiX Bridge, ensure you meet the following requirements:

1. Wallet Requirements

  • XRPL: You’ll need a XAMAN or CrossMark wallet to bridge and manage your CSC tokens on XRPL.

  • Solana: We recommend using Phantom Wallet to manage your CSC tokens on Solana.

2. Adding Token Support

Token support will be added during the bridge process if it hasn’t been set up already!

  • XRPL (Trustline):

    • To receive CSC on XRPL, you must set up a trustline for CSC in your wallet.

    • The CSC XRPL issuing address is rCSCManTZ8ME9EoLrSHHYKW8PPwWMgkwr

    • Follow your wallet's instructions to add a trustline. For example, in Xumm, scan the provided QR code or use the manual setup option.

  • Solana (Token Account):

    • On Solana, each token requires a dedicated token account in your wallet.

    • Before bridging CSC to Solana, please ensure your wallet has created a CSC token account.

    • Creating this account incurs a small SOL fee (around 0.002 SOL) for on-chain storage.

3. Supported Platforms

    Web App

  • Access the PontiX Bridge through our web app: webapp.pontix.io.

  • The web app provides a seamless interface bridging CSC between XRPL and Solana.

    Browser

  • The PontiX Bridge is optimized for use with Google Chrome

    • Please ensure your browser is up to date with the latest version for the best experience.

How the Bridge Works

Instead of using a mint-and-burn mechanism, the PontiX Bridge operates through a central treasury system. Here’s how it works:

  • Central Treasury Model:
Tokens not in active circulation are securely held in a treasury account. When tokens are bridged from one chain to another:

    • The tokens are moved out of circulation on the source chain and held in the treasury.

    • An equivalent number of tokens are released into circulation on the destination chain.

    • This ensures a consistent circulating supply across chains while maintaining flexibility and efficiency.

  • No Mint-and-Burn:
Unlike traditional mint-and-burn models, this approach avoids the need to create and destroy tokens on-chain. This is beneficial because:

    • Transaction costs are significantly lower.

    • The mechanism is consistent across all supported chains, including XRPL, where mint-and-burn functionality is unavailable.

Supply Integrity:
While the bridge mechanism allows flexibility in managing the token supply, the total supply of CSC remains capped at 65 billion. The central treasury ensures that no additional tokens enter circulation beyond this limit unless explicitly decided by the project governance.
