How to recover a swapped CasinoCoin XUMM account

Modified on Fri, 19 May, 2023 at 8:06 AM

To recover a XUMM account that was created during the CasinoCoin swap, you will need the original CSC wallet’s account family seed. There are 2 ways to do this:

1.      Using the 12-word seed

2.      Through the original computer where the v5 wallet was installed

The family seed (also referred to as ‘Account Secret’) always begins with the letter ‘S’. If you have the family seed already, please use the following guide: Recovering CSC Account(s) on a new/different phone (NB! The XUMM guide is missing one step before the import. In order to recover a swapped CSC account with the family seed you need to replace all the lowercase "c"'s with "r"'s and vice versa in the family seed (for example this seed str8yJc9ld should be changed to stc8yJr9ld) and then import it with XUMM)).

1. CSC account recovery with the 12-word seed

a. Download and install the following software:

Windows

After installation, run the software.

Mac OS

After installation, open the applications folder (Go-Applications). Hold ctrl on your keyboard and click on the application (cscl-account-recovery). Select Open, then select Open (or Continue) again.

b. Select Recover with Words and Email

c. Enter the 12-word seed and the registered email address, then click Recover Account.

The email address acts as the 13th word in the recovery seed. If you made a spelling error when you set up the account, you will need to use the exact same spelling here. Otherwise, the recovery tool will not give the correct result.

d. Copy the account secret and write it down. Click OK

e. Click Import CSCL account in XUMM.

f. To scan the QR code, open the XUMM app. Select the XUMM logo at the bottom of the screen, then tap Scan QR Code.

g. Enter the Account Secret from Step D. Tap Next.

And you're done.

You should now see your recovered account in XUMM wallet.

2. CSC account recovery from the backup

You can also recover your CSC account through the original computer with the v5 wallet installed, if the backup files still exist.

a. Click Recover from Backup and select the latest backup file.

b. Enter the wallet password and click Continue.

You will now see the list of accounts and account secrets. Please scroll up and continue from

Step D in the first method.
